Since its launch in September 2023, the new M7 has now accumulated more than 140,000 firm orders, Aito said.

Huawei-backed new energy vehicle (NEV) brand Aito delivered a record number of cars in January, defying seasonal declines by its major peers.

Aito delivered a record 32,973 vehicles in January, up 636.83 percent year-on-year and up 34.76 percent from December, according to data it released today.

Throughout January, Aito saw 24 days of single-day deliveries of more than 1,000 units, it said.

Deliveries of the new Aito M7 hit another record high of 31,253 units in January, the first time a single-month delivery exceeded 30,000 units, it said. The Aito M7 delivered 20,611 units in December.

Since its launch in September 2023, the new Aito M7 has now accumulated over 140,000 firm orders, the brand said.

Aito, the premium car brand launched by local carmaker Seres Group with Huawei on December 2, 2021, has already released models including the Aito M5, Aito M7 and Aito M9.

The Aito M5 and Aito M9 are available in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions, while the Aito M7 is only available in EREV versions.

The Aito M7 was initially released on July 4, 2022. On September 12, 2023, Huawei launched an revamped version of the M7 at one of its launch events and allowed the price to be reduced significantly.

Aito delivered more than 10,000 units per month for most of the second half of 2022, but performed weakly in 2023, below 6,000 units in most months last year.

The introduction of the revamped M7 reversed the Aito’s fortunes, making it an exception in January that was unaffected by seasonality.

On November 27, Aito said the new M7 had accumulated more than 100,000 firm orders after 2.5 months on the market.

On December 26, Aito launched the M9, its highest-priced model, with a starting price of RMB 469,800 ($65,410).

Scale deliveries of the Aito M9 will begin on February 26, but before, Aito is offering 2,000 first mover slots, who start getting deliveries on January 26, according to a previous Aito announcement.
