Under the HIMA umbrella, Huawei has partnered with local automakers to launch five new brands: Stelato by BAIC Group, Aito by Seres Group, Luxeed by Chery, Maextro by Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), and Shangjie by SAIC Motor.
Aito, the first brand launched under Huawei’s HIMA business on December 2, 2021, a premium automotive brand under this umbrella.
On October 28, HIMA announced that cumulative deliveries of models under it reached the milestone of one million units, achieved just 43 months after the first vehicle was delivered.
The average transaction price for models under HIMA in October was RMB 390,000 ($55,760), HIMA said at the time.
This average transaction price is high, considering vehicles priced above RMB 300,000 are considered premium models in China.
Beyond the five brands under the HIMA business, Huawei has also collaborated with Dongfeng Motor (HKG: 0489, OTCMKTS: DNFGF) to create the new automotive brand Yijing, with GAC Group (HKG: 2238) to establish the new Qijing brand, and with SAIC-GM-Wuling to develop Huajing.
The Qijing brand was officially launched on September 19, targeting the premium EV market. The Yijing brand was formally announced at a Huawei event on November 20.
The brand announced in late December that its shooting brake-style coupe had commenced road testing in China.
On December 29, SAIC-GM-Wuling announced it would launch the Huajing S, its first jointly developed model with Huawei, in the first half of 2026.
This marks the success of a homegrown Chinese luxury sedan with a starting price of RMB 708,000 ($100,540).
