Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has released updated versions of the Li L6 SUV (sport utility vehicle) and Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), with unchanged starting prices and better features.

The company rolled out the updated versions of the two models yesterday on the first day of the ongoing 2025 Shanghai auto show and began pre-sales, focusing on the upgraded smart-driving hardware.

Li Auto is offering the updated Li L6 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) in Pro and Max options, with pre-sales starting at RMB 249,800 ($34,240) and RMB 279,800 respectively, in line with its predecessor.

The updated Li L6 comes with LiDAR as standard, while its predecessor only had the component in the higher-priced Max version.

The Pro variant uses Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6M smart driving chip, while the Max variant is powered by the Nvidia Thor-U chip.

Li Auto has started taking pre-orders for the updated Li L6 and will start taking firm orders on May 8.

The starting price of the updated Li Mega Ultra is RMB 529,800, in line with its predecessor.

In addition, Li Auto launched a special edition, the Li Mega Home, with a starting price of RMB 559,800.

The Li Mega Home uses rotatable zero-gravity seats in the second row and silent electric doors for the first row.

Li Auto will offer owners of the 2024 Li Mega Ultra a paid upgrade solution for the same seats as the Li Mega Home.

The company began accepting firm orders for the updated Li Mega yesterday, and deliveries will begin in May.

The Li Mega, Li Auto’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, went on sale on March 1, 2024, when it was priced at a starting price of RMB 559,800.

Due to the model’s performance falling far short of expectations, the price was cut by RMB 30,000 to RMB 529,800 less than 2 months after the launch.

In 2024, a total of 10,798 units of the Li Mega were delivered, contributing 2.16 percent of Li Auto’s annual deliveries of 500,508, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

    ($1 = RMB 7.2963)

Regulatory filing: Li Auto files for Li i8 electric SUV

The Li i8 measures 5,085 mm in length and will come standard with lithium ternary batteries that supports 5C charging.
