    BYD Feb sales breakdown: Song 35,273 units, Qin 16,191

    The Yangwang brand delivered 780 vehicles and Fang Cheng Bao 2,310 vehicles in February.

    BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDF) today reported new energy vehicle (NEV) sales for February, followed by breakdown figures showing the performance of different brands and models.

    BYD’s NEVs include passenger NEVs and commercial NEVs, with the former including different brands including BYD, Denza, Yangwang and Fang Cheng Bao.

    The group sold 122,311 NEVs in February, including 121,748 passenger cars and 563 commercial vehicles.

    BYD-branded passenger cars — including Dynasty and Ocean series models — sold 114,060 units in February, down 38.12 percent year-on-year.

    The premium Denza brand sold 4,598 units in February, down 37.23 percent year-on-year and down 49.29 percent from January.

    Denza’s February sales included 4,219 units of the D9 MPV, 294 units of the N7 SUV, and 85 units of the N8 SUV.

    BYD’s personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao delivered 2,310 vehicles in February. Fang Cheng Bao’s first model, the Bao 5, was officially launched on 9 November 2023, and deliveries began on 23 November.

    The Yangwang brand delivered 780 vehicles in February, and the BYD ultra-luxury sub-brand launched its first model, the U8, on September 20, 2023, with deliveries beginning on November 24.

    The U8, which has a starting price of RMB 1,098,000 ($152,530), delivered 1,652 units in January.

    The second model of the Yangwang brand, the U9, was launched on February 25 with a starting price of RMB 1.68 million.

    Among BYD-branded models, the Song family continued to rank as the top-selling BYD model with 35,273 units sold in February. This was 32.69 percent lower year-on-year and 40.73 percent lower than in January.

    The Song family models on sale include the Song L, Song Pro DM-i, and Song Max DM-i in the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i in the Ocean series.

    BYD’s Dynasty series of Song models sold 15,100 units in February, down 50.98 percent from 30,806 units in January.

    Its Ocean series of Song models sold 20,173 units in February, down 29.730 percent from 28,708 in January.

    BYD’s Qin family of models sold 16,191 units in February, down 46.98 percent year-on-year and down 25.62 percent from January.

    The Qin family was the second best-selling BYD model in February.

    The Dolphin sold 13,725 units in February and was the third best-selling BYD model last month. This was 39.96 percent lower year-on-year and 27.40 percent lower than January.

    The Seagull sold 13,492 units in February, which was 62.98 percent lower than January and was the fourth highest-selling BYD model.

    The BYD Seagull was launched on April 26, 2023, with a starting price of RMB 73,800, making it the cheapest BYD model.

    The BYD Yuan family sold 8,583 units in February, down 74.46 percent year-on-year and down 52.50 percent from January.

    The BYD Han family sold 7,678 units in February, down 37.80 percent year-on-year and down 30.84 percent from January.

    BYD Chaser 05 sold 7,110 units in February, up 43.06 percent year-on-year and up 106.09 percent from January.

    BYD Seal sold 5,447 units in February, down 29.75 percent year-on-year and down 34.74 percent from January.

    BYD Tang sold 5,357 units in February, down 55.47 percent year-on-year while up 2.80 percent from January.

    BYD Frigate 07 sold 774 units in February, down 87.96 percent year-on-year and down 50.86 percent from January.

    BYD e2 sold 430 units in February, down 38.57 percent from January.
